Organ Anecdotes

I am writing a book of anecdotes about pipe organs and I am interested in hearing from people who have a story to tell. If you have a story about an organ, an organist, an organ builder or simply the world of organ music, tell me about it. You don't have to be a writer - that's MY job - or even an organist! But if you have a favourite story, jot down a few details below and I'll get back to you if I am interested in use your story in my book.

Keep your story brief and try to include as much pertinent information as possible. I will edit it later and respect any request for anonymity, but for now I will need as much detail as you can remember. It doesn't have to be a personal yarn - stories that are "generally known" are also welcome, and tales of others, such as organ teachers, audiences, pupils - especially if they can be corroborated - are welcome!
